"FIFTEEN"

When I was four

French school was my amour [1]

Si vous plait! Mes amis!

Au revois! Et merci!

When I was seven

French school passed in distance

No more ma soeur [2], now "miss" [3]

Khai Minh, beginning my Chinese

From kindergarten to third grade

All my friends with happy faces

Badminton to jumping ropes

Sharing playground, sharing jokes

Came April Nineteen Seventy-Five

Nhatrang, I left behind

Not a word to say goodbye

To my friends and "two buildings high" [4]

Saigon, I returned to "Capital" city

The school, the life, so busy

But where were the unity?

Of friendship in my little city [5]

When I was fourteen

Saigon, will never been seen

For I, ready to leave

My past and everything indeed

Nhatrang, I came back

A moment of flashback

One last chance to see my town

To say goodbye all friends around

By "Bai Duong" in the dark

Steps in the sand, couldn't see foot mark

Goodbye Nhatrang forever

A beginning of my adventure

When I was fourteen and half

Hongkong a place to by pass

A year of uncertainty

A year accepting destiny

When I was fifteen

California, a new place to be seen

A new life to begin

From fifteen ever since…
