MERRY
CHRISTMAS TO HERO
It was the night before
Christmas
I drove my sled with
reindeers
Streets were shined only
by starlights
No song, no music, no
cheers.
I drove my sled round
and round
Could not find chimney to
land
Pondering where I have
gone
Finally, I stopped on
sand.
Look around, I saw no
chimneys
No bricks, no stones, no
fences
Houses all made of soft
fabrics
Those, they call
"tents".
In the tent, I walked
around
No decors, no tree, no
halls
No stockings, no
presents,
Boots and sands, all I
saw.
I saw pictures on fabric
walls
I saw letters by canvas
beds
I saw medals and badges
I saw noone under
blankets
Where they could be at
this hour?
Finally, I knew I have
found
Little house of soldiers
A simple and honorable
house.
At frontier, keeping
peace
So everyone could have
holiday
And children would
celebrate
A happy Christmas day
No wishes from the soldiers
I checked my list twice
I found letters from
children
Loving their parents
with pride
What presents could I give?
To brave women and brave
men
Letters from their kids
Kisses from love in far
land.
Brought presents on Christmas night
Dropped by once a year
Wishing I could make many trips
Brought loves and
brought cheers.
Until you came back to
tents,
“Be safe, my hero
I am the one children
love,
But YOU are my hero.”
To all
soldiers
Have a safe
Christmas & New Year!
